Now that the weather has improved considerably in the Canary Islands, the Liverpool Telescope has been collecting some impressive pictures of active supernovae. These now require analysis and schools should go to the appropriate link on the Optical Observations page of the EoS website to check these out.

Best wishes

Mike

Hi,

Ive analysed one picture of the optical observations data, but after they've all been analysed, what happens to the data?

Is it going to be put into a table/graph somewhere so that its possible to look at it and see what the supernovae have been doing?

Thanks,

Mark, e092

Hi Mark

Yes, once we have collected enough data on each supernova, you will start to see a graph of the light curve of each one so we can all keep track of progress.

At the moment there are only a handful of points for each one, so the graphs wouldn't be particularly useful...

Keep up the good work!
Cheers
Andy
